The headset sports interchangeable Horde and Alliance plates to fit whatever mood you're in.

These days headphones are growing more smaller and more discreet; as a result, they produce neither the quality of sound nor the noise-blocking effect of the Sound Blaster: World of Warcraft Wireless Headset. Even if you are not a fan of the popular MMO PC game, this headset with its many features and top-of-the-line THX hardware will increase your listening pleasure.

Designed to fit comfortably on just about any head, the Sound Blaster has foam cushions designed lock your music in and distracting sounds out. For computers with less than admirable sound quality, especially laptops, the new-found clarity with the Sound Blaster will astound you. With each headset comes a detachable microphone, a USB transmitter, a charging cord (also USB compatible, and Horde and Alliance plates that can be switched for added customization. Being wireless, you no longer are tethered to your computer when you want to listen to your music; you can wander into any room of your house and still have a signal.

In my use of this product I have found many of its additional features enjoyable:

The Horde and Alliance plates light up into any color imaginable – with the custom control program that comes with the purchase, you can teach the headset to cycle through your favorite colors while you listen. Unlike most headsets where the volume of your computer’s speakers is all that you can customize, the World of Warcraft Wireless Headset allows you to distribute the range of  sound between ears. You can even change the volume on individual layers of a song from your bass to your crystallization. THX, the leading engineers for sound technology, have spared no expense to ensure that this product caters to your every whim. Speaking of whims, for the playful at heart, a voice changer from the VoiceFX studios is included along with more than fifteen pre-set voices to choose from.

Among the many pros of this product, there are a few downsides to using the Sound Blaster headset:

The first and foremost issue lies with the USB transmitter. For laptop computers especially, I found that the transmitter is an awkward protrusion from the port. It is longer than most flash drives and it is easy to bump or jam. It is a fragile piece of equipment and if damaged, it will render your headset useless. Take very good care of your transmitter. Replacing it is not fun.

The World of Warcraft Wireless Headset is not a cheap item. It sells for $150.00 in most electronic stores, however with sale prices, I have seen sets fluctuate between $100.00 and $125.00. Other Sound Blaster headsets range near the same price and many deliver a pleasant listening experience as well for a little less money, but in general a Sound Blaster will not be cheaper than $85.00. Even though the World of Warcraft Wireless Headset has a steep price for a pair of headphones, if you take care of them, they are the best speakers you will ever own.
