I purchased my first car about a year and a half ago, and was very pleased. I bought a 2009 Kia Rio.

The 2009 Kia Rio has great mileage, which was my first concern when I was car shopping. With an average of 35 MPG on the highway, this car is optimal for driving. It may have a little engine, but it makes up for it when you buy the 5-speed manual version.
I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this car (or any 1.6 engine car) as an automatic. It lags too much when changing gears. Driving this Rio as a manual fixes this problem.
The car comes with Satellite Radio, 4 doors, and semi-comfortable seats. It’s a sedan with air conditioning and power steering. With great mileage, wonderful service, and a decent stock sound system and stereo for a good price, what more could you want?
I was able to purchase this car because it fit my budget. Not going to lie, I also liked the fact that they had the 2009 Kia Rio in just about every color you could choose from.
Disadvantages are that the car is quite small…but this can be helpful in parking. It seats 5 smaller people (or perhaps children in the backseat) comfortably. But put 3 adults in the back seat, and it’s a little stuffy.
Overall, the 2009 Kia Rio is a smart buy for the quality of car you get for the price you pay. I would recommend it to smaller families.
