EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm

Whether you keep one in your pocket or you have several strategically placed around the house, lip balm is an item that most people need every day.  With its distinct design and creative flavors, EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm stands out from ordinary balms and is an organic, natural solution to dry, chapped lips.

 This product is hard to miss: its colorful, spherical design immediately grabbed my attention. The top of the sphere twists off, revealing a ball of balm inside–very different from the tubed varieties that we’re used to. Product design isn’t usually something I consider when it comes to lip balm, but for me it’s a plus that something I use multiple times a day actually looks cool too. One advantage I noticed is that the lip balm’s shape makes it easy to find and harder to lose. I’m not always digging in my purse to find it because the bright, colorful ball is usually the first thing I see.

Another unique thing about this item is the variety of flavors. You’re unlikely to find creatively crafted flavors such as Honeysuckle Honeydew and Summer Fruit in other brands of lip balm. It’s very easy for the indecisive to start a multi-colored collection, as each of the seven flavors smells incredible, making it hard to choose just one.

Pretty packaging aside, EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm hydrates lips well with long-lasting effects. Even better, it’s made from all natural ingredients and is 95% organic. Shea butter makes lips smooth and supple while Vitamin E protects skin from harmful ultraviolet rays. But what isn’t in this lip balm is also important. Every Smooth Sphere is free of parabens, phthalates and petrolatum. This means that your lips won’t be absorbing any harmful chemicals that are so often included in cosmetic products.

This lip balm is a bit more expensive than a lot of its competitors, and that might turn a lot of people away. $3.29 does seem a little pricey, but ultimately you’re getting more product than you would in a stick or tubed variety. Each Smooth Sphere contains .25 ounces of product, so it can last a lot longer than most lip balms that are usually .15 ounces. When it comes to lip balm, I’m a frequent applier and even my current Sweet Mint Smooth Sphere has lasted for months. However, this product still might not be for everyone. If you strictly just want to moisturize your lips without all the extra fluff, you might be better off buying something more simple for a lot less. And though the packaging is very unique and eye-catching, it might not be be the right choice if you just want to carry it in your pocket. Because, let’s be honest–strange pocket bulge can invite awkward questions. On the plus side, EOS does offer a Smooth Stick line, which is a tubed version of the same product.

EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm is as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. The combination of flavor, smell, and organic ingredients makes it an excellent staple item for happy, healthy lips.
