I am not going to claim to be a make-up expert. I have been blessed with clear skin and can’t be bothered to spend all that time in front of a mirror messing with products whose textures and appliques are intimidating to my novice-self. The times when I have used make-up, I end up applying it unevenly, or forget that I am wearing any and smear it when I rub my face or eyes. This is why I love Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain. It’s low maintenance, looks natural, smells amazing, doesn’t smudge, and lasts forever.

Benefit is a luxury range brand of cosmetics with playful packaging and affordable prices. The 12.5 fl oz bottle costs $28 dollars and has lasted me about a year. I love the elegant packaging, though be careful about just tossing Benetint in your purse or make-up bag – the top cracked for me and it spilled all over. On the plus side, my bag smelled like roses, on the minus, I had to buy another one. You can find it at any Sephora, or order it online and it ships within 28 hours.

You can wear Benetint on your cheeks, lips, or eyelids. The brush also feels really soft and cool against your skin. I usually dot it along my cheek bones and blend it with my fingertips. The stain used by actresses Anne Hathaway and Kiera Knightley and musicians Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. Benetint has won several awards, including 2010 Top 25 Elle Beauty Hall of Fame -Best cheek & lip stain, Real Simple magazine’s “can’t-live-without-household-products all-of-fame” award, and Marie Claire’s “Top 25 Products that Changed our Lives” for “the fave for rosy cheeks and lips” (source).

One customer review I read said that it makes her pores more noticeable and red, though I have never had that problem. They also have a lighter shade called Posietint, which might work well for large-pored gals. This is one of the three or four cosmetics that I wear on a regular basis. For a natural look that is very affordable in both money and time, I highly recommend Benefit Benetint.
