The name Bumble and Bumble always brings to mind the image of sweet bumble bees. These useful insects are an integral part of life and just like the little bees, Bumble and Bumble hair salon is working hard to become an integral part of your coif.
I have fine hair. A lot of it, but it is flat and fine. More than anything I would love to have full voluminous locks of hair, but without extensions, I’ve never been able to find something that actually gives my hair lift. I have tried products that say they thicken, but I find they either stiffened my hair or weighed it down. I received a bottle of Bumble and Bumble’s Thickening Hair spray as a gift. It comes in an 8oz. bottle and is priced at $25.00. A price that I wasn’t willing to pay for something that I wasn’t sure I’d use, but as a gift it was the perfect price.
This hair spray is amazing. It works. I spray it on my damp hair, comb it through and then blow dry, and my hair actually looks fuller and thicker. It isn’t sticky or tacky and it doesn’t flake. I can run a brush through my hair, and if I don’t wash it the next day it still looks thick.
The trick is that the product uses polymers that act like a setting agent. So the spray sets your hair, and with heat (it doesn’t work well without blow drying) it sets your hair a lot like a curling iron (but no curls just body). It has wheat protein to condition and moisturize. It does change the texture of your hair slightly. I noticed that it feels a little dry, but not sticky. I don’t mind this, but you may if you like your hair to feel silky smooth. As soon as I wash my hair, it feels soft again. So it doesn’t actually drying out my hair, but the product does create a bit of a drying affect.
If you don’t have fine flat hair you can still use this product. It is good for taming frizzy hair and it gives all hair types lift and control. It also has a moderate hold, but not as strong as regular hair spray. The only real con to the product is that you need to use a lot of it to work, and at $25.00 a bottle, I wish that it was more concentrated to last longer. But it is a great product and it makes my hair look nice and full.
