Alright girls, time to dish. Out of the thousands of mascara products out there, have you found one you love? One you can’t live without? One you recommend to all your friends? If so, I’m jealous. Almost every time I hit the drugstore, I feast my eyes on the endless options, promising worlds of lash plumping, volumizing, lengthening glory, and I almost always try out a new brand, make or model. It’s too tempting not to! I mean, it’s basically like being a kid in a candy store. I still can’t commit to a “perfect” mascara (if such a thing exists), however, I have found one that makes the day-to-day much easier, faster, prettier, and clump free, oh my!
If you haven’t heard of NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara by CoverGirl, it’s high time you did. This 0.27 oz bottle proves nothing if not the lightest and airiest mascara you’ve ever tried. With a light touch of honey and beeswax and no heavy synthetics, NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara is a wonderfully natural lash formula that builds a surprising amount of volume without weighing you down.
I’ve been using this product for close to 6 months now, and as an every day mascara, it has not let me down yet! For starters, it’s super affordable at only $6.79 at most drugstores. Once you apply it, you’ll feel as though you’re not wearing any makeup at all, and as I’m fairly certain we’ve all learned from experience, not all mascaras can make this promise.
It’s easy to wipe off at the end of the day with a moist towelette and comes off effortlessly with soap and water in the shower or sink. Lashes are a breeze to style further with a lash brush or curler and keep a beautiful natural look about them throughout the day. When compared with other mascaras that can make your lashes feel crunchy, clumpy and dried out, NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara has an opposite effect.
I am personally addicted to the Very Black (500) shade, as it helps achieve a more dramatic day look, while still being completely appropriate for a night on the town with some added eyeliner and shadow. If you’re looking for something more subtle or natural, there are three more shades to meet your personal taste preference: Black (505), Brown (515), and Black-Brown (510). All shades do come in a water-resistant formula as well for those days spent lounging poolside.

- Other mascaras may be more ideal for producing dramatic night looks (depends on person preference)
- Doesn’t work as well on sparse, thin lashes
- Doesn’t give lashes a plumping or thickening effect
Physicians Forumla makes a natural mascara as well called Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara, which is also free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives and parabens. Made with 100% organic and eco-friendly ingredients, this mascara is one of NatureLuxe Mousse’s most comparable competitors. It boasts its ability to create length, volume and definition naturally, and comes with a similar, comb-like brush to prevent clumping. For $9.95, however, it’s on the more expensive end of drugstore beauty products and may be more than most are willing to pay.
At the end of the day, it’s about what works for you. NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara from CoverGirl, in my experience, has been nothing but a joy to use, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t found their “perfect” mascara yet.
