We have all heard that a good flat iron costs a lot of money and while some may be worth the cash I doubt I will ever spend more than $40 on a straightener after discovering that Remington’s T-Studio Style Professional 1′ Sleek and Curl Flat Iron S1051E easily manages my naturally curly hair. Earlier this year People Magazine reported that Tina Fey used T-Studio professional styling products to complete her glamorous look for the SAG Awards and I understand why.

I was immediately in love with the pink coloring of the T-Studio products and bought the T-Studio Style Professional 1′ Sleek and Curl Flat Iron about four years ago. The T-Studio Style Professional 1′ Sleek and Curl Flat Iron reaches professional heat temperatures in 30 seconds (perfect for getting ready in a hurry) and easily transforms my frizzy locks sleek and smooth. But straightening hair isn’t all this flat iron is good for—it can create five different hair-dos including flawlessly straight, and tight curls. The T-Studio Style Professional line also includes flat irons with 1 3/4″ plates and 2 1/4″ plates.
What really makes the T-Studio Style Professional 1′ Sleek and Curl Flat Iron stand out is its Tourmaline-Titanium-Ceramic plates that protects hair from burning and keeps fly-aways at bay. Another nice feature is that my hair never gets snagged between its heat plates, unlike it has on some other straighteners I’ve used. The temperature is also clearly displayed on a digital screen and for those of us who are forgetful it automatically turns off after one hour. The T-Studio Style Professional 1′ Sleek and Curl Flat Iron has a four-year warranty and I have had mine for a little over that and have yet to run into any technical glitches.

A downside to the product however, is that after excessive use the Tourmaline-Titanium-Ceramic seal on the plates begins to chip (mine is almost completely worn off). But perhaps the most annoying is a design flaw– sometimes while gripping the flat iron to straighten my hair I unknowingly hit the “off” button.
Overall, I have been happy with my purchase. If you’re looking for a flat iron that can manage frizzy, unruly hair and that will last you for more than a couple of years, I recommend the Remington T-Studio Style Professional 1′ Sleek and Curl Flat Iron. For $34.99 it gives a lot of style for its price.
