One of the hardest things for me to find is a healthy snack that satisfies my craving for crunch—something that’s not too heavy, salty, or sweet. Something that isn’t chips, or cookies, or nuts. I have to share with you my new favorite snack: Doctor Kracker’s Organic and Artisan-Baked Seedlander Flatbreads, which will make your tastebuds and your waistline happy.
I was curious but at first put off by the fact that it looked too wholesome. But I was amazed by how great it actually tasted. The crackers, about the size of a postcard, are also thicker than normal flatbread, which gives it its great crunch. The Seedlander flatbread has a nutty, slightly sweet taste but without any cane sugar. It tastes great by itself, but can also be a wonderful base for cheese, spreads, or dips.
Better yet, I could feel great that I was snacking healthily: I found out from its Web site that it is made out of “specially milled,

100% whole grain organic spelt flour, combined with organic pumpkin seeds, millet, sesame, flax, and poppy seeds.” More good stuff: the Seedlander is 100% USDA certified organic, and contains 18 grams of whole grains, 4 grams of protein, and 12% of our daily need for dietary fiber per cracker. Only 100 calories per cracker and 12 grams of carbohydrates, this also makes for a satisfying snack for those on low-carb diets. In fact, it’s the perfect snack to stave off a junk-food craving because the heartiness and crunch satisfies and is perfect with a bit of cheese or fruit.
Rachel Ray even featured Dr. Kracker’s snacker version of the Seedlander cracker on her show, as the September 30, 2010 snack of the day!

Dr. Kracker also has three other flavors of flatbreads, including Klassic 3 Seed, Seeded Spelt, and Pumpkin Seed Cheddar. In addition, Dr. Kracker has two other varieties of cracker besides the flatbread: the Snacker Krackers (smaller size), and their Culinary Crisps, which include four other flavors: Cherry Semolina, Apple (featured on Weight Watchers as a favorite apple snack), Fire Roasted, and Hummus Maximus. Some of these varieties include sugar-free crackers as well.
