If you are like most Americans, a fast steaming cup of coffee in the morning is what gets you going. The newest coffee fad is the Keurig B40 Coffee Maker, Elite Single Serve. Many of my friends have purchased the Keurig Coffee Maker and being the curious coffee connoisseur, I have invited myself over for a few coffee breaks.
The Keurig B40 Coffee Maker uses Keurig brand coffee cups (K-cups) to brew a single serving of steaming coffee in under a minute. Whether you have company over or just brewing for yourself, the Keurig is a great alternative to brewing a large pot of coffee that ends up wasted. The Keurig B40 has a 48 oz. water reservoir and an automatic cutoff so you can brew a cup anytime. Your cup of coffee comes out with great flavor and at the right drinking temperature. Coffee is always fresh when brewed with the Keurig B40 Coffee Maker.
The Keurig B40 Coffee Maker is easy to use and clean. The K-cups are inserted into the brewer and easily removed afterwards. The water reservoir is convenient per use but can be awkward to refill.
The major complaint of Keurig B40 Coffee Maker customers is the weak brew of Keurig coffee. People who are used to a strong cup of coffee find the Keurig brew too weak. However, for most people, myself included, the Keurig brew is a perfect blend. Another major complaint is the durability of the machine itself.
The Keurig B40 Coffee Maker, Elite Single Serve features:
- One Year Warranty
- 48 oz. water reservoir
- Brew 8 oz. or 10 oz. cups
- Dishwasher- safe
- Removable drip tray for quick cleanup
- Precision blends of high-quality coffees and teas
- Includes a 12-count variety pack
Pros:
- Convenient
- Fresh coffee and minimizes waste by brewing single serve coffee
- Quick—heats up in less than a minute
- Easy to use and clean
- Automatic cutoff
- Perfect temperature brew
Cons:
- Only brews about 7.5 oz of coffee
- K-cups are expensive and not readily available in stores
- Machine is a bit loud when brewing
- K-cups become more landfill waste
The Keurig B40 Coffee Maker, Elite Single Serve is great for home use or in a small office. Its sleek design looks great on the counter or on your desk, and it is definitely convenient to use. The real question here is: is it worth the $119 price tag? If convenience and short brewing time is valuable to you, then the Keurig B40 Coffee Maker, Elite Single Serve is a great purchase. For me, a single serving French press may take about 5 minutes to brew a cup of coffee, but it is well worth the wait and only a tiny fraction of the cost.
