I don’t know how many of you have looked for milk-alternatives that taste great and have a texture that can mimic milk effectively, without any of the allergens, lactose, or high calories.  I tried soy milk, rice milk, and almond milk, but have found my personal favourite milk-replacement is So Delicious Dairy-Free Coconut Milk line.  In particular, I’m a big fan of their French Vanilla Coconut Milk Creamer, which mixes in smoothly with all my teas and manages to sweeten them without over sweetening them, if you know what I mean.  My new favourite summer treat is iced black tea with French Vanilla Coconut Milk Creamer blended in.

When I compared So Delicious Coconut Creamer to dairy creamer, the health advantages were also abundantly clear.  Zero fat, zero sodium, zero cholesterol.  So Delicious also is a cut above the other non-dairy creamers because it contains no dairy derivatives, no soy (a common allergen), no high fructose corn syrup, no trans fats, and no artificial flavouring.  It’s also gluten-free.  It’s relieving to find something so allergen-free and tasty, because a lot of times it seems you have to chose one or the other as a consumer.

I also checked up on So Delicious’s history and learned they’ve won a number awards, including 2011 Kiwi Award’s Best Kid Food.  They’ve topped several vegan/vegetarian best foods list as well and though they’re a relatively new business, it seems they’re doing well to start a name for themselves and make a product with integrity, so it’s good for the people who make it and the people who eat it.

Oh yes, and So Delicious makes a whole line of dairy-replacement products, ranging from ice-cream to cultured coconut milk.   They also have different flavours of their Coconut Milk Creamer, including Plain and Hazelnut, but personally they didn’t do much for me compared to the French Vanilla.  It’s a good buy and though the package is small, it goes a long way.
