Shaving one’s face is something we as men must do at some point, unless we’re Grizzly Adams, which 99.99% of us are not. I had a shaver that I loved dearly, like a friend of the family that I could count on to give me the closest shave possible in a matter of minutes, no mess, no fuss. And then one day it died. I promised myself: “Self, from now on it’s only hand held safety razors and shaving foam for me.” Of course this didn’t bode well when I needed something quick before heading out to the office, so I started once again the search for a good electric shaver that wasn’t too expensive, wasn’t constantly needing a recharge, and shaved my face reasonably well. Enter the Panasonic ES8103S Men’s Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver.
Promising the following:
- Sharp nano-tech blades with an arced foil provide a close, touchable shave
- Adjustable pivoting head follows facial contours for a precision shaving experience
- Wet or dry shave design for use in or out of the shower
- Pop-up trimmer for detail grooming to keep you looking your best
- Turbo cleaning mode accelerates shaver to 17,000 RPM to shake off residue that might stick to your blade
I said: “Self, we’ve got to try this out.” After receiving the Panasonic ES8103S Men’s Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver in the mail I immediately allowed it to charge up, then put it to the test. I really enjoyed the front lcd that allows me to see how much of a charge the shaver has left in it, and it seems to hold power very well. In fact, even at 10 percent of power I can still get another three or four shaves out of it it seems. The pivoting head can be set to lock so it doesn’t move, or it can be unlocked to indeed follow the contours of my face as I shave. The only problem I find is that it seems to not shave me as closely as I would like, but I imagine that the best way for a really close shave is with a good razor and some shaving cream. Being able to whip out the Panasonic ES8103S Men’s Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver in a pinch, before work or a date is great though, and I being able to use it in the shower is an added time-saver.
Overall I find the shaver a good value for the money. It holds a consistent charge, let’s me know when it needs to be recharged, the shaver shaves reasonable well, and I find it extremely easy to clean and maintain. I highly recommend this Panasonic ES8103S Men’s Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver, and my face does too.
