If you want soft, smooth skin that remains moist all day based on a single application of a plant-based, environmentally friendly, long lasting moisturizer, you definitely want to give Aveda Replenishing Body Moisturizer a try. I have been using Aveda products religiously for many years, and I have yet to find a similarly priced moisturizing lotion that offers comparable quality to what Aveda offers. While Aveda Replenishing Body Moisturizer is certainly not your cheapest alternative, it is well worth the $25 that you will spend to maintain moist skin all day long with a single application, fewer wrinkles, and enviable youthful skin throughout the later years of your life. In addition to receiving many compliments on my soft skin and clear complexion, I’ve also been told by many that I look at least 10-15 years my junior. Although I attribute my youthful appearance to a healthy diet, daily practices of yoga, meditation, martial arts, and other forms of regular fitness, I think that the way that I choose to treat my skin also has a lot to do with it.
While $25 per 8.5 oz bottle for Aveda Replenishing Body Moisturizer (and most Aveda lotions of similar size) is significantly more than you would pay at your local drug store for comparably sized Jergens, Aveeno, Lubriderm, and other commonplace moisturizing lotions (generally running $5 – $10 per bottle), the Aveda moisturizing effect outlasts any others I have tried and requires significantly fewer applications to produce long lasting moisture. One application creates a thick coat of moisture that remains moist all day on my otherwise extra dry skin. I have been using my current 8.5 oz tube of Aveda Replenishing Body Moisturizer for over 4 months, whereas I have been known to finish similarly sized drug store brands in a matter of 4-5 weeks. If you are prone to acne or have oily skin, I imagine this could be a downside but for me, it is exactly what I need. Aveda also boasts of an environmentally friendly product suite. Aveda Replenishing Body Moisturizer gains its unique aroma from pure plant and flower essences and includes vitamins, natural humectants, and oils—including meadow foam. Although the enticing aroma was not the reason for my purchase, I have heard from friends that it smells quite nice, which is certainly an added bonus. It is also comforting to me, as a health and environmentally conscious consumer, to know that I am not working any artificial chemicals or preservatives into my skin. One downside of getting accustomed to the high quality of Aveda products is that they are hard to track down. You cannot purchase Aveda lotion at your local drug store and therefore must search out an Aveda vendor (via limited hair salons), an Aveda store, or purchase the moisturizer online. Once you find a vendor, however, and make your first purchase, you should be in good shape for many months. It’s great for massages too!
If you are tired of applying and re-applying a drug store moisturizer over and over again only to have it wear thin within a short time, you may consider investing the research to settle in with a local Aveda dealer. I have decided that my youth, comfort, health, and environment are worth the time and expense. If you agree, give it a try!
