Arg. My skin is doing that thing again where if I put on a topical acne medication it dries it out, and if I put on lotion it gets greasy and breaks out even more. What is a girl to do? Well, about two years ago I found a lovely product called Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer.
Clean & Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer is oil- free so it doesn’t make my skin greasy, and it has salicylic acid in it that helps treat and prevent pimples. The.5% of salicylic acid really caught my eye as I was browsing face lotions because most facial lotions don’t have it, and only have one purpose: to moisturize. Here is a product that not only moisturizes but I can be at ease through the day knowing that it is also helping my light acne problems.
It comes in a white 4. Fl. Oz. bottle with a purple pump, which is handy for getting the perfect amount of lotion and not waste any. It has a nice soft, clean sent that makes it more of a uni-sex product since it isn’t too florally. The Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer can be found in most drug stores, and even some grocery stores. It retails for about $6 and I have twice gotten it on sale for about a dollar less.
Pros: Leaves skin soft and moisturized, non oily or greasy, medicated, fresh smell, inexpensive, matte finish, good as a base before putting on make-up.
Cons: Will sting in any open acne sores or sunburn, it isn’t an acne cure all, can cause drying if combined with other acne medications, not good for moisturizing around the eyes as it very painful if it gets in the eye, doesn’t have any SPF in it as other lotions do.
There are several other variations, which I have not tested, of facial lotions provided by Clean & Clear. There is the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Moisturizer, which is for skin that has harsher acne. Also, the Clean & Clear FINISHES Pore Perfecting Moisturizer to minimize pores without clogging them, and it has SPF 15. Lastly, the Clean & Clear MORNING BURST Morning Glow Moisturizer to brighten up the skin, as well as having SPF 15 and a citrus fragrance.
In conclusion, I think Clean & Clear is a great facial lotion for daily moisturizing needs as well as having nifty salicylic in it to help treat and prevent light acne.
