The most adorable humidifier out there, Crane’s 2.1 Gallon Cool Mist Penguin Humidifier Model EE-0865 brings relief to all the pain dry air can bring! My search for a humidifier started when I began noticing that during the winter when the air got dry, I’d start getting itchy skin and congestion that made it impossible to sleep at night. Realizing that I needed a humidifier sooner rather than later, I began looking around at the dizzying array of options that the modern humidifier market holds wondering: Which one is right for me?! I was looking for something that worked well, looked nice, and wouldn’t break my wallet in half. The humidifier is intended for use by children (i’m assuming) but I find the penguin shape pleasing to the eye and a decent enough conversation starter among friends. It features an auto-off sensor, variable humidity output regulator, whisper quiet operation, and the 1 gallon tank was stated to last up to 11 hours on one filling, which is perfect for keeping the humidifier running all night long without interruption. As I discovered doing a quick searh, the 2.1 Gallon refers the the actual amount of mist that the humidifier supposedly can create from 1 gallon of water. That’s a lot of mist!
After ordering the Crane 2.1 Gallon Cool Mist Penguin Humidifier Model EE-0865 off of Amazon I took it out of the box. Sure enough the penguin shape was an instant hit in my household, but aesthetics aside, I needed to know if it actually worked the way it said. I found that it was indeed whisper quiet and did go around 11 hours on one filling. The removable water tank made it extremely easy to fill in my bathroom sink, which is fairly small. Additionally, the mist blowing from the penguins mouth was an added bonus for me, but only because as I said good-bye to congestion and itchy skin, it somehow felt good to have a penguin blowing mist into my bedroom. The design is perfect for those with children, or for people like me who apparently have childish tendencies when it comes to these sorts of things.
Overall I would say that the fairly low price point compared to other more “serious” humidifiers was more than worth it when considering how well my Crane 2.1 Gallon Cool Mist Penguin Humidifier Model EE-0865 works for me, the ease with which I can fill and refill the tank, and the amusement at the shape. Crane also makes this humidifer in several other animal shapes including a pig, a cow, a frog, Spongebob Squarepants, and plenty of other animals for children or general animal enthusiasts. The only con I could find is that generally cleaning it can be a bit of a pain, and it should be cleaned often depending on usage. As I mentioned above though, the price (around 40 USD versus upwards of 70 for most out there) more than makes up for the extra work involved.
