Is keeping a clean radiant smile a top priority for you? Do you want sparkling white teeth that make you stand out, but do not want to pay hundreds of dollars for a professional whitening? Then Crest’s 3D White Vivid toothpaste might be a good alternative for your teeth needs.

About a year ago, I began using Crest 3D White Vivid, because having a healthy clean mouth, and a radiant smile are things I value. As a full-time college student, I could not afford to pay hundreds of dollars to get laser whitening. I constantly looked for toothpaste that fit my budget and kept my teeth healthy and white. One day, a friend suggested I try the Crest 3D White Vivid. I was skeptic about whether the toothpaste would really make a noticeably difference on my teeth.

White, like Innocent Snow

After about a week of using Crest 3D White Vivid, I noticed some major differences from my teeth’s original appearance. They were not only whiter, but my gums looked healthier too.

Generally, I maintain healthy, cavity free teeth. I do not eat candy often. I brush twice a day, use mouthwash, and occasionally, floss. So overall, I try not to do anything that can harm the health of my teeth. Despite this, my teeth stain, and my gums are sensitive so they bleed sometimes if I brush too hard. My teeth and gums have normal problems, but a lot of those problems disappeared since I started using the 3D White Vivid. My teeth are always white and my gum health has improved. My gums have not shown any signs of bleeding in a year.

With the 3D White Vivid you can expect your teeth to become significantly whiter than if you use generic, or no-name brand toothpaste. The plaque and food residue completely disappears after brushing. Your gums will look better and be healthier. Overall, you’ll have a brighter smile and better dental hygiene.

Not All that Glitter is Gold

I have not had many issues with Crest 3D White Vivid, and I have not purchase and tried some of its competitors, like Arm and Hammer’s Advance White toothpaste. So I cannot discuss the general setbacks of the toothpaste compared to others, or the negative aspects from my personal experience, but these are some of the general complaint about 3D White Vivid:

  • Blue residue left on teeth and toothbrush-This has never happened to me, but many reviews said that people find blue crystals on their teeth and toothbrush after using it.
  • Does not completely remove stains if you smoke and drink lots of coffee– I do neither, but if you do, you might want to try another brand, or a different whitening alternative.
  • Difficult to squeeze out and toothpaste hardening-I do not find it difficult to squeeze out but, like most toothpaste, parts do get hard if you leave the top off, or not tighten it enough.
  • Causes teeth sensitivity-My teeth were sensitive prior to using this, and the toothpaste made it less. Others have had opposite effects.

Cost Efficient or Cost Deficient

Crest 3D White Vivid is not the cheapest toothpaste around. The price can range from $3 to $8 dollars, depending on where you buy it. You might be able to find it cheaper at Walmart, shopping on Ebay, Amazon, Sam’s Club, or Costco. To me, paying $5 or more dollars for this toothpaste is not a big budget setback. A 5.8oz usually lasts me more than four months, not sure exactly how long it lasts, but I would guess anywhere from three months to a year. I use it twice a day, and about two squirts on my toothbrush. I am the only one that uses my tube, so if you have a big family, or more than one person will share this, then it could become costly. So this may not be the best choice for families on a budget.

The Pros and Cons

As I have been discussing, Crest 3D White Vivid has many pros, makes teeth white and healthy. But has just as many cons, blue crystal residue. So here is a review of some of the positives and negatives of the White Vivid:

Pros
 Immediate teeth whitening
 One 5.8 oz tube can last awhile
 Freshens breath
 Improves gum health
 Can help improve teeth sensitivity

Cons
 Might not whiten as well if you smoke, or drink lots of coffee
 Can be costly if buy directly from certain stores
 Blue crystal residue
 Bottle design issues
 Can cause teeth sensitivity

The Alternative

The Crest 3D White Vivid also comes in whitestrips that can cost as low as $25 for ten days of usage. That can be very expensive, but probably has a longer effect than the toothpaste. I have not tried the strips so I do not know how they compare to the toothpaste, but probably due to reading negative reviews and the cost, I’d stick with the White Vivid toothpaste.

Conclusion

Crest 3D White Vivid toothpaste is far from being a perfect teeth whitening solution, but it has many positives that make it worth the cost. You’ll definitely see overall improvements on your teeth’s health, but if you want flawless teeth whitening, and have major teeth staining then your best choice is to see a professional. For anyone else, this may be the brand for you.
