Few people like doing dishes. That’s why dishwashers are such an important time-saving appliance, but what about those of us who can’t afford, or don’t have room for a full sized dishwasher? Counter-top dishwashers are made for those among us with studio apartments and tight budgets.

When I use this Koldfront dishwasher it works. From my use I have never had any issues with it failing to completely clean the dishes. In addition it looks good. While it is small enough to store in a closet, I don’t feel the need to because it looks nice with my kitchen. The unit is simple to hookup and run. It works great for people who live in apartments, or people who just have limited kitchen space, and because it is a countertop dishwasher you will save a lot compared to buying a full sized dishwasher. However, potential buyers should be aware of some of the downsides to this dishwasher.
First customers should be aware of the dimensions of the unit. Looking at it online can give you the idea that it is about the size of your typical microwave, when in fact it is bigger. This Koldfront dishwasher is 18.9 inches deep, and 17.1 inches high. So, if you have small counters or low cabinets you might find it doesn’t fit. Of course this unit could easily be put on a table, but it would be a disappointment to find your new dishwasher doesn’t fit where you want it to go. Limited space also means limited room for dishes: the PDW45 EB can hold 4 standard place settings. So, this product is probably only worth the cost for people living alone, or with one other person.
In addition the unit takes longer than many standard dishwashers to run a standard load. It is pretty loud when it runs too, but not loud enough to be a problem for most people.
The PDW45EB comes with a 5 foot hose and attachment that attaches to most faucets, four wash settings, a simple digital display, a dish rack, and a silverware basket. In other words it comes with everything you need to set it up and run it.
Koldfront’s Portable Dishwasher with Digital Controls is comparable to similar the Haier HDC1804TW, which claims the same types of features at a similar cost. Prices vary from site to site between which is the cheaper buy, so customers will want to consider buying the Haier dishwasher instead if it is significantly cheaper.
If for whatever reason you can’t buy, or don’t want a full sized dishwasher Koldfront’s PDW45EB is a great solution. It will cut down the time you spend on dishes, and it will look great with it’s simple compact design.
