In terms of protection, this is absolutely one of the best cases you can find. It’s hard shell protects from pocket items, long drops, and all kinds of impacts. The soft gell case provides extra shock-absorption and the corner reinforcement is ingenius, as that is where the phone falls and cracks most of the time.
Having said these things, and having used this case on my own iPhone 4 for over a year, there are a few issues with the case. First off, the soft case underneath can loose its elasticity and fit after being removed a few times. This causes very few functional issues, but the biggest inconveniences about it is that it gets difficult to push the lock button on the top of the phone. Also, the hard shell around the camera lens opening is susceptible to cracking. Mine has cracked, but it doesn’t seem to pose a threat to the phone or hinder its protective abilities. Also, the case is heavy, so if you’re looking for a lightweight iPhone 4/4S case, this is not your case.
However, if you’re looking for an inexpensive, extremely durable, and long lasting (keep in mind most of my issues have popped up after having the case for about a year) case that will protect your iPhone from almost anything then the Ballistic iPhone 4/4S Shell Gel SG Series Case is right up your alley!
